Gryb is a location-based social app that lets users connect with nearby people for voice conversations, add friends, chat by text and photos, and make direct calls.

What We Collect
We may collect:
- Profile information such as name, age, gender, country, and profile photo
- Account details and sign-in information
- Location data, including approximate location, latitude, longitude, and location grouping data used for nearby matching
- Call and activity data, such as call duration, timestamps, distance, total calls, and online or availability status
- Messages, chat photos, friend requests, friend connections, and read or delivery status
- Purchase and subscription information, such as token purchases and Gryb Plus status
- Reports, block actions, ban status, and anti-abuse signals
- Support requests and related information you send to us
- Device and technical data, such as device identifiers, notification tokens, IP address, app version, operating system, and language settings
- Advertising-related data, including ad interactions and certain device or advertising signals where applicable
How We Use Data
We use data to:
- Create and manage accounts
- Sign users in
- Match nearby users
- Enable calls, chats, friend features, and profiles
- Process token purchases and subscriptions
- Send notifications and service messages
- Review reports and enforce our rules
- Detect abuse, fraud, and misuse
- Show ads and manage ad rewards for free users
- Operate, secure, and improve the app
- Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes
Sharing
We may share data with service providers that help us run Gryb, such as providers for hosting, databases, communications, notifications, media handling, advertising, and billing.
We may also disclose data:
- if required by law
- to protect Gryb, users, or third parties
- to investigate abuse, fraud, or violations
- as part of a merger, sale, or transfer of the business
Location
Gryb uses location to help match users with nearby people.
Location data is stored with the account and updated while the app is in use and location permissions are enabled. The last known location is not automatically cleared when a user stops matching and remains associated with the account until the account is deleted.
You can turn off location access in your device settings, but nearby matching may stop working.
Retention and Account Deletion
We keep data for as long as reasonably needed to operate Gryb, protect users, handle disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
When you delete your account, Gryb deletes your account data, connections, and conversations.
Some data may still remain after account deletion, including:
- certain call records, which may be partially de-identified rather than fully deleted
- reports
- support tickets
- backup data stored in iCloud / CloudKit
- purchase and transaction records kept for legal, accounting, dispute, or platform integrity purposes
Unused tokens are lost when your account is deleted.
Ads and Purchases
Gryb may show ads to free users.
If tracking permission is declined, ads may still be shown, but they may be less personalized depending on the platform and provider.
Purchases and subscriptions may be handled through Apple App Store, Google Play, or another payment channel made available in the app.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under local law to:
- access your data
- correct your data
- request deletion
- object to certain processing
- restrict certain processing
- withdraw consent where applicable
- request a copy of certain data

Legal Basis
We process your personal data based on:
- Your consent (at sign-up and through device permissions such as location and tracking)
- Contractual necessity (to provide the Gryb service to you)
- Legitimate interest (for safety, moderation, and fraud prevention)
- Legal compliance (to comply with applicable laws)
Data Breaches
If a data breach occurs that affects your rights, we will notify you within 72 hours through the app or via your registered contact information where possible. We will also notify relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
Data Storage and Transfer
Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country, including in the United States and Europe, through cloud hosting and infrastructure providers. Where data is transferred outside Saudi Arabia or the GCC, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Children
Gryb is for users 18 and older only. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make important changes, we may notify users in the app or by other appropriate means.
